THE CITY OF TSHWANE METROPOLITAN MUNICIPALITY
(A municipality as described in section 2 of the Local Government Municipal Systems Act, 2000, duly
established in terms of Notice No. 6770, promulgated in the Provincial Gazette Extraordinary of
1 October 2000 in terms of section 12(1) read with section 14(2) of the Local Government: Municipal
Structures Act, 1998, as amended)

City of Tshwane, Executive Mayor Update

Noteholders are further advised by the City of Tshwane's Speaker of Council:

"On 18 January 2024, during a special Council meeting, Council resolved that Cllr Nasiphi Moya be
duly elected as Deputy Mayor of Tshwane in accordance with Section 55(1) of the Local Government:
Municipal Structures Act, 1998 (Act 117 of 1998), as amended. Section 56(6) of the Municipal
Structures Act, 1998 further provides as follows:

        The deputy executive mayor of a municipality exercises the powers and performs the duties
        of the executive mayor if the executive mayor is absent or not available or if the office of the
        executive mayor is vacant

In view of the motion of the vote of no confidence against Ald Cilliers Brink having been passed on 26
September 2024, the Deputy Mayor, Cllr Nasiphi Moya, will exercise the powers and functions of the
Office of the Executive Mayor until such time that Council convenes to elect a new executive mayor of
Tshwane.

The election of a new executive mayor must be done within 14 days after the last Council sitting (26
September 2024) at which it was declared that the position is vacant."
