DECLARED DIVIDEND ANNOUNCEMENT ON BRITISH AMERICAN TOBACCO PLC HOT ENHANCED DIVIDEND
SECURITIES – (“BTIIHE”)


With reference to the dividend announcement, the Directors of British American Tobacco Plc have recommended a
final dividend of 104.6 pence per ordinary share payable on Thursday, 5 May 2016 to ordinary shareholders,
recorded in the books of the company at the close of business on Friday, 18 March 2016.

The currency exchange rate applicable for the dividend is GBP: ZAR = 21.32780 as at 23 February 2016.

In terms of the new Dividend Tax effective 1 April 2012, the following additional information is disclosed:

1)   local dividend tax rate is 15%;
2)   net local dividend amount is 1 896.2547 South African cents per share for shareholders liable to pay the new
     Dividends Tax and 2 230.88788 South African cents per share for shareholders exempt from paying the new
     Dividends Tax;
3)   the issued share capital of British American Tobacco Plc is 1 864 228 895 ordinary shares;
4)   the British American Tobacco Plc tax reference number is 9378193172; and
5)   Investec Bank Limited tax reference number is 9675/053/71/5.


Accordingly, the holders of BTIIHE will receive a dividend amount per ordinary share on Thursday, 5 May 2016 in
terms of the Cession clause incorporated in the Supplement between the holders and Investec Bank Limited. The
last day to trade (“cum” the dividend) in order to participate in the dividend will be Friday, 11 March 2016.

BTIIHE Hot Enhanced Dividend Securities will commence trading “ex” the dividend from the commencement of
business on Monday, 14 March 2016, and the record date will be Friday, 18 March 2016.
