UPDATE ON RECONFIGURATION OF UMGENI WATER AND MHLATHUZE WATER AND CHANGE
TO COMPANY SECRETARY

In compliance with the Debt Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited, stakeholders are advised that
following the publishing of the final gazette on 19 June 2023, and the successful completion of all critical
activities that achieves the Minister’s decision to disestablish Mhlathuze Water, 1 July 2023 marked a
new chapter wherein Mhlathuze was disestablished and Umgeni Water commenced operating under the
new name uMngeni-uThukela Water. The reconfiguration process included the signing of the transfer
agreement for staff and assets of the former Mhlathuze Water.

With the completion of the reconfiguration process, the Company Secretary from the former Mhlathuze
Water, Ms. Simangele Mbatha, has been appointed to act in the position of the Group Company Secretary
for uMngeni-uThukela Water with effect from 12 July 2023, until further notice. Mr Sbusiso Madonsela
who previously fulfilled the role of Group Company Secretary will continue in his role as Group Chief
Governance and Compliance Officer with effect from 12 July 2023.
