Change to the Board of Directors

In compliance with section 3.59 of the JSE Listings Requirements, shareholders are
advised that Christi Maherry has been appointed as an Executive Director to the Board of
Ansys with effect from 20 June 2018. She replaces Rynier van der Walt, who will be
taking up the position of Chief Technology Officer in the group’s digital network solutions
business.

Christi was previously the CEO of Law Trusted Third Party Services (Pty) Ltd (LAWtrust),
which has been acquired by Ansys. She started her career in IT security in 1996 and, after
building up a successful operation for the sale of digital certificates and security solutions
at the South African Certification Agency (SACA), played a key role in the sale of the
business to the Namitech group. She left Namitech to found LAWtrust which, under her
leadership, became a market-leading South African company globally recognised as a
trust centre and security solutions provider.

Christi brings an entrepreneurial flair to established organisations and specialises in
initiating change and growth in businesses that would otherwise become complacent. She
is highly skilled in change management and post-merger integration, as well as in building
sales teams that demonstrate consistent success in relationship-based selling.

Her appointment brings a new set of skills to the Ansys Board and serves to strengthen its
gender diversity.

Rynier has made an invaluable contribution during his tenure on the Board and will now be
guiding technology development and integration in the group’s most profitable segment.
His move also allows the Board to maintain a complement of three Executive Directors in
compliance with the Board Charter.

The Board would like to thank Rynier for his service and to welcome Christi, and looks
forward to their contribution to the Company’s growth strategy.
