TRANSNET APPOINTS A GROUP COMPANY SECRETARY

Transnet has appointed Ms Shokie Bopape as its Group Company Secretary effective
1 April 2022.

Ms Bopape’s career spans over twenty years in various areas of work, mainly in the public
sector. She has worked in both Government Departments and State-Owned Companies and
held various positions at executive level. Her areas of expertise include company secretarial
services, governance and compliance, legal, corporate services, regulatory affairs, Intellectual
Property Management, SHEQ, Information Management and stakeholder management. She
has held the position of Interim Group Company Secretary for Transnet from
1 September 2020 and was the Head of Legal and Company Secretarial Services at Alexkor
SOC Limited prior to that.

She possesses an LLB, a Master of Arts degree from UKZN and a Qualification in Company
Secretarial and Governance Practice from the Chartered Governance Institute of Southern
Africa. She has also completed a Strategic Leadership and Executive Development Programme
at GIBS. She is a member of the Chartered Governance Institute of Southern Africa as well as
IoDSA.

Transnet is looking forward to Ms Bopape’s contribution in assisting the Company to maintain
a high standard of governance and compliance.
