DECLARED DIVIDEND ANNOUNCEMENT ON BRITISH AMERICAN TOBACCO PLC (“BRITISH AMERICAN”) HOT
ENHANCED DIVIDEND SECURITIES – (“BTIIHD”)


With reference to the dividend announcement, the Directors of British American have declared a dividend of
100.60 pence per ordinary share payable on Thursday, 7 May 2015 to ordinary shareholders, recorded in the
books of the company at the close of business on Friday, 20 March 2015.

The currency exchange rate applicable for the dividend is GBP: ZAR = 17.76480 as at 24 February 2015.

In terms of the new Dividend Tax effective 1 April 2012, the following additional information is disclosed:

1)   local dividend tax rate is 15%;
2)   no STC credits available for utilisation;
3)   net local dividend amount is 1,787.13888 South African cents per share for shareholders liable to pay the new
     Dividends Tax and 1,519.06805 South African cents per share for shareholders exempt from paying the new
     Dividends Tax;
4)   the issued share capital of British American is 2,026,763,181 ordinary shares;
5)   the British American tax reference number is 9378193172; and
6)   Investec Bank Limited tax reference number is 9675/053/71/5.


Accordingly, the holders of BTIIHD will receive a dividend amount per ordinary share on Thursday, 7 May 2015 in
terms of the Cession clause incorporated in the Supplement between the holders and Investec Bank Limited. The
last day to trade (“cum” the dividend) in order to participate in the dividend will be Friday,13 March 2015.

BTIIHD Hot Enhanced Dividend Securities will commence trading “ex” the dividend from the commencement of
business on Monday, 16 March 2015, and the record date will be Friday, 20 March 2015.
