CREDIT RATING ANNOUNCEMENT

Noteholders are advised that Fitch Ratings has affirmed Umgeni Water's National Long-Term Rating
at ‘AA+(zaf)’ with a Stable Outlook, senior unsecured rating at ‘AA+(zaf)’ and National Short-Term
Rating at ‘F1+(zaf)’.

The affirmation by Fitch Ratings reflects continued strong links between Umgeni Water and the South
African state as assessed under Fitch Ratings’ Government-Related Entities rating criteria and Umgeni
Water’s sound Standalone Credit Profile, despite the negative impact caused by the COVID-19
pandemic.
