Brikor breaks ground at the Grootfontein mine

Shareholders are advised that yesterday Brikor opened the Grootfontein mine in Nigel adjacent to Brikor’s
fully owned Ilangabi coal mine. Grootfontein mine is owned by Kopanela Mining (Pty) Limited (“Kopanela
Mining”) a subsidiary of Brikor. Kopanela Mining is a broad-based Level 2 BBBEE vehicle formed in
accordance with the 2018 Mining Charter to secure future prospecting and mining rights in South Africa.
Grootfontein mine is expected create around 300 new jobs over the next five years and is expected to
produce 50 000 tons per month with the potential to increase production further.
