Moody’s downgrades Anglo American plc (‘AA plc’) ratings to Ba3
from Baa3.


In accordance with paragraph 4.26 of the JSE Debt Listings
Requirements,   noteholders  are  advised  that   Moody’s  has
downgraded the senior unsecured ratings of AA plc and its
subsidiaries to Ba3 from Baa3 and its short term ratings to NP
from P-3.    Concurrently, Moody’s downgraded the company’s
national scale rating (‘NSR’) to Baa2.za from A3.za and
downgraded the short term NSR from P-1.za to P-2.za. AA plc is
the Guarantor under Anglo American SA Finance Ltd’s R20bn DMTN
Programme.
