CHANGE TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

In compliance with the JSE Limited Listings Requirements, the
following information is disclosed:

Zurich South Africa today announces the appointment of John
Meadway Vice to the board of directors (“Board”) as an independent
non-executive director and a member of the Audit; Investment as
well as the Social, Ethics and Transformation Committees, with
immediate effect.

John, a senior partner at KPMG, is a qualified Chartered
Accountant. He is currently in charge of the Audit Committee
Forum, a joint project between the IOD and KPMG and he also serves
as a lead audit partner in various financial services
institutions. John is also a non-executive director of Anglo
American Platinum Limited.

Dolly Mokgatle, Chairman of the Company’s Board said: “We are
pleased to announce the appointment of John Vice to the Board. He
brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the area of
financial services.”
