OneLogix, the JSE-listed supply chain fulfilment group, has reported interim revenue of R102,8 million for the six-month period ended 30 November 2001, 70% ahead of the R60,5 million for the previous corresponding interim period.
Earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) of R8,2 million exceeded R6,3 million for the six months to 30 November 2000 by 31%, and basic headline earnings per share (HEPS) increased marginally from 4,05 to 4,1 cents per share.
"The group's strong operating growth is evident from the rise in HEPS despite a significant reduction in interest received following our R54 million share repurchase last year," says OneLogix CEO Tony Wiese.
Organic growth was generated primarily by the group's more established companies Vehicle Delivery Services (Pty) Ltd, GoLogix Media Couriers and PostNet. Younger businesses, including GoLogix Distribution and Courier, contributed strongly to group revenue during the period under review. E- fulfilment division DotLogix established itself as a prominent player by servicing high profile customers such as flySAA.com and MegaShopper.
Wiese says: "Overall our customer base grew substantially to 2 500 SA corporates, in addition to which we maintain daily interaction with 30 000 SMEs through the 220 PostNet counters nationwide." PostNet was recognised during the period under review as the `Franchisor of the Year'.
Acquisitively the group recently entered into a customer-referral agreement with Roadway Logistics (Pty) Ltd, a leading niche parcel distributor. This enabled GoLogix Distribution to expand its market share off its existing infrastructure, requiring no material investment in assets by the group. While Wiese does not rule out the possibility of further acquisitions in the future, OneLogix is well positioned to sustain organic growth.
The group's multiple revenue streams are generated from supply chain
fulfilment services in addition to innovative logistics products that integrate the competencies of its different divisions, for instance the successful PostNet-to-PostNet courier product. OneLogix also designs and manages the end-to-end flow of the supply chain.
Wiese says that management will concentrate on unlocking the substantial potential embedded in its operations. "Driving each business to maximum operational efficiency from within, is the rationale behind the appointment of executive director Ian Lourens to Chief Operating Officer."
The group will continue to exploit the high growth niche markets of auto, media and SME logistics, and its expertise in servicing sub-Saharan Africa specifically bodes well for future prospects. Ends.
