S&P upgrades Anglo American plc (‘AA plc’) ratings to BB+ from
BB.


In accordance with paragraph 4.26 of the JSE Debt Listings
Requirements, noteholders are advised that S&P has upgraded the
senior unsecured ratings of AA plc and its subsidiaries to BB+
from BB. Concurrently, S&P upgraded the company’s national scale
rating (‘NSR’) to zaA from zaBBB+ and upgraded the short term
NSR to zaA-1 from zaA-2. The outlook is stable. AA plc is the
Guarantor under Anglo American SA Finance Ltd’s R20bn DMTN
Programme.
