DECLARED INTERIM DIVIDEND ANNOUNCEMENT ON BRITISH AMERICAN TOBACCO PLC HOT ENHANCED DIVIDEND
SECURITIES – (“BTIIHF”)


With reference to the dividend announcement, the Directors of British American Tobacco Plc have recommended
an interim dividend of 51.3 pence per ordinary share payable on Wednesday, 28 September 2016 to ordinary
shareholders, recorded in the books of the company at the close of business on Friday, 19 August 2016.

The currency exchange rate applicable for the dividend is GBP: ZAR = 18.87280 as at 26 July 2016, this results in
an equivalent interim gross dividend of 968.17464 South African cents per ordinary share

In terms of the Dividend Tax effective 1 April 2012, the following additional information is disclosed:

1)   local dividend tax rate is 15%;
2)   net local dividend amount is 822.94844 South African cents per share for shareholders liable to pay the
     Dividends Tax and 968.17464 South African cents per share for shareholders exempt from paying the
     Dividends Tax;
3)   the issued share capital of British American Tobacco Plc is 2 026 984 205 ordinary shares;
4)   the British American Tobacco Plc tax reference number is 9378193172; and
5)   Investec Bank Limited tax reference number is 9675/053/71/5.


Accordingly, the holders of BTIIHF will receive a dividend amount per ordinary share on Wednesday, 28 September
2016 in terms of the Cession clause incorporated in the Supplement between the holders and Investec Bank Limited.
The last day to trade (“cum” the dividend) in order to participate in the dividend will be Tuesday, 16 August 2016.

BTIIHF Hot Enhanced Dividend Securities will commence trading “ex” the dividend from the commencement of
business on Wednesday, 17 August 2016, and the record date will be Friday, 19 August 2016.
