NOTICE OF AVAILABILITY OF INTERIM FINANCIAL STATEMENTS

Eskom hereby notifies its debt investors that it has publicly released its unaudited interim financial
statements for the six months ended 30 September 2020 (“Interim Financial Statements”).

The     Interim  Financial   Statements      are    available  on    the    Eskom      website   at
https://www.eskom.co.za/IR2020/Interim/ and for inspection at Eskom’s registered office at 1 Maxwell
Drive, Megawatt Park, Sunninghill, Johannesburg, 2000

The Interim Financial Statements contain restatements to the prior comparative period for the six
months ended 30 September 2019. These restatements have also previously been disclosed in Eskom’s
annual financial statements as at 31 March 2020 and relate to:

    1. Post-retirement medical aid;
    2. Impairment of the VAT portion of trade receivables; and
    3. Capitalisation of costs incurred in the construction of plant.

In addition, disposals and write-offs of property, plant and equipment have been restated by R3 997
million at 30 September 2019 in line with the annual financial statements at 31 March 2020 and relate
to expenditure at the Kusile power station that was previously capitalised to plant and work under
construction. Full details of the restatements are set out in note 17 of the Interim Financial Statements.
