Board of Directors – Non-Executive Director Appointment
This notice is published voluntarily to ensure that interested parties are appropriately
informed of the activities of the Bank.
Noteholders are advised by the Board of African Bank (“the Board”) that Mr Mark Harris has
been appointed as an independent non-executive director of the Bank and its holding
company, African Bank Holdings Limited (ABH). In addition, he will serve as a member of
the Group Risk and Capital Management Committee and will chair the Board’s Technology
and Information Committee.
Mr Harris has skill sets around technology and innovation developed across a large number
of industries. He worked for IBM for over 30 years in consulting, sales and technical
management positions in South Africa and internationally, and more recently, served as
Group Chief Executive of the Kagiso Media Group.
Mr Harris will contribute an appreciation and understanding of business strategies,
innovation, technology and digitisation to the deliberations of the Board.
Commenting on the appointment, the Board stated, “We welcome the appointment of Mark.
His considerable experience, particularly as this relates to technology insights, will
complement the skills set of the Bank and ABH boards and we look forward to his
contribution as a non-executive director.”
