Headline earnings per share are expected to be between 89% and 99% lower than the headline earnings per share of 5 609 cents for the year ended 31 December 2008. The expected decrease is primarily as a result of lower metal prices, despite higher platinum sales volumes. The difference between the basic earnings per share and headline earnings per share is attributable to the profit in respect of the previously announced BEE transactions with Mvelapanda Resources Ltd and Anooraq Resources Corporation, which is excluded from headline earnings.
