CORRECTION: NOTIFICATION ON TRANSNET EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS
Investors are advised this is a correction to the announcement released on the Stock Exchange
News Service of the JSE Limited on 29 September 2023. In terms of paragraph 6.39 of the
JSE Limited Debt Listings Requirements, the Issuer advises Noteholders that Transnet's Group
Chief Executive (GCE) Ms Portia Derby and Group Chief Financial Officer (GCFO) Ms
Nonkululeko Dlamini, who were both Executive Directors on the Board of Directors left the
Company.
Ms Dlamini, who joined Transnet in July 2020, left on 29 September 2023, after serving her
notice from 1 September 2023.
Ms Derby left Transnet at the end of October 2023. She was appointed to the role in February
2020.
Ms Derby stepped down by mutual agreement and Ms Dlamini left to pursue another
opportunity outside of the Company.
The Board appointed Ms Michelle Phillips, Chief Executive of Transnet Pipelines, as acting GCE
with effect from 01 November 2023. Ms Hlengiwe Makhathini, General Manager: Corporate
Finance, was appointed to act as interim GCFO with effect from 03 October 2023. Ms Philips
and Ms Makhathini will serve as Executive Directors on the Board. Their respective
appointments will remain in force while the recruitment process for a permanent GCE and
GCFO is underway. Both candidates were considered and recommended by the Board as
suitable for appointment by the Shareholder Minister in accordance with the Memorandum of
Incorporation.
The Transnet Board of Directors thanked both executive directors for their contribution to the
company, and wishes them great success in their future endeavours.
