Resignation of a non-executive director of the company.

In compliance with rule 3.67 (b) of the Listings Requirements of the JSE
Securities Exchange South Africa, we advise that Mr D E Cooper resigned as a
director of Nampak Limited with effect from 11 March 2002

Mr Cooper leaves Nampak, after serving sixteen valuable years as a non-
executive director, due to his extensive commitments.

The Board has accepted Mr Cooper's resignation with regret and expresses its
thanks to him for his contribution to the Nampak group.
