APPOINTMENT OF A NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR                                         
AECI Limited is pleased to announce the appointment of Litha Nyhonyha (47) as a 
non-executive director of the Company, with immediate effect.                   
Litha is executive chairman and a founder member of Regiments Capital (Pty)     
Limited, a black-controlled and managed financial services group focused on     
niche investment banking activities, founded in 2004.  Prior to this, his career
included a directorship at Worldwide African Investment Group, which Board he   
still serves in a non-executive capacity, and he was CEO of this Group"s NBC    
Holdings, as well as CEO of Thebe Financial Holdings for the Thebe Investment   
Group.  He is a chartered accountant with auditing and corporate finance        
experience from his time at Ernst & Young, where he was senior audit manager and
senior corporate finance consultant.                                            
Other Board positions currently include chairmanships of the North-West         
Univesity Council and Plessey Telecommunications, and directorships at the Land 
bank and South African Express Airways.
