OVERVIEW - CHOPPIES ENTERPRISES LTD

Choppies is the leading supermarket chain in Botswana and opened its first store in 1986 in Lobatse. The first South African store was opened in Zeerust in 2008. The Company has since replicated its successful model in many medium-size towns across Mpumalanga, Limpopo, North West and Free State provinces. The entry into Zimbabwe in 2013 has exceeded all expectations and the Company plans to open up to 50 stores. The company entered Zambia and Kenya in 2015.

Expansion plans are to grow from the 172 store footprint as at March 2016 in both existing markets and new markets. Choppies is uniquely positioned to grow its market share in southern Africa as shoppers progressively choose branded convenience and formal retail formats. Choppies forecasts over 200 stores in six countries by the end of calendar year 2016.
