South African Markets – Factors to watch on Sept 14

The following scheduled economic events, equity and currency market moves may affect South African markets on Tuesday.

The S&P 500 closed higher on Monday, ending a five-day losing streak as investors focused on potential corporate tax hikes and upcoming economic data.


Gold prices inched lower on Tuesday, as investors braced for the U.S. inflation data that could offer cues on the Federal Reserve’s timeline to start tapering stimulus measures meant to aid economic recovery from the pandemic.
