S.Africa’s Transnet says container terminals suffer IT disruption

JOHANNESBURG, July 22 (Reuters) – South Africa’s state-owned freight logistics firm Transnet said on Thursday it was a experiencing disruption to its IT system which was impacting its container terminals.

Transnet, which operates major ports and a huge railway network that transports minerals and other commodities for export, said it was investigating the source of the disruption.

Its freight rail, pipelines, engineering and property divisions were reporting normal activity, Transnet said. (Reporting by Tanisha Heiberg and Zandi Shabalala; editing by Jason Neely)
