Finland to end Jan 25 bans on Britain, Ireland, S.Africa flights

Jan 22 (Reuters) – Finland will open up for passenger flights on routes to Britain, Ireland and South Africa on Jan. 25, ending the ban which has lasted for weeks due to the spread of a new variant of the coronavirus, the country’s transport agency said on Friday.

“Health security measures at Finnish airports have been strengthened substantially following the detection of the mutations, making it possible to effectively mitigate travel-related risks,” the agency said in a statement. (Reporting by Tarmo Virki in Tallinn, editing by Louise Heavens)
