Mnuchin says he will not advocate for a weak dollar near-term

WASHINGTON, July 24 (Reuters) – A stable U.S. dollar is important, U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said on Wednesday, adding that he will not advocate for a weak dollar near-term.

Over a long period of time, a strong dollar is in interest of the United States, Mnuchin told CNBC in an interview. (Reporting by Makini Brice and Susan Heavey Editing by Chizu Nomiyama)
