TRADING STATEMENT – 2023 INTERIM FINANCIAL STATEMENTS

Steinhoff Investments is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Steinhoff International Holdings N.V. and
is the issuer of variable rate, cumulative, non-redeemable, non-participating preference shares
with a capital value of R1.5 billion. The preference shares are listed on the JSE.

In terms of paragraph 3.4(b) of the JSE Limited Listings Requirements, a listed company is required
to publish a trading statement as soon as it becomes reasonably certain that the financial results
for the next reporting period will differ by 20% or more from those of the previous corresponding
period.

Accordingly, a review of the financial results for the six months ended 31 March 2023 by
management has indicated, with a reasonable degree of certainty, that for Steinhoff Investments:

    •   earnings per ordinary share is expected to be between 2 500.00 cents and 7 500.00 cents
        compared to an earnings per share of 26 543.59 cents in the previous corresponding
        period, which equates to a decrease of between 90.6% and 71.7%; and
    •   headline earnings per ordinary share is expected to be between 2 000.00 cents and 7
        000.00 cents compared to 26 636.31 cents in the previous corresponding period which
        equates to a decrease of between 92.5% and 73.7%.

The financial information on which this trading statement is based has not been reviewed or
reported on by Steinhoff Investments’ auditors. Steinhoff Investments financial results for the six
months ended 31 March 2023 are expected to be released on SENS on or about 19 June 2023.
