CAPITEC BANK (THE WHOLLY-OWNED SUBSIDIARY OF CAPITEC): ISSUER
CREDIT RATINGS AFFIRMED

On 25 October 2021, S&P Global Ratings (“S&P”) affirmed all
the credit ratings of Capitec Bank. The foreign currency
international long-term issuer credit rating remains ‘BB-’ in
line with that of the South African sovereign. The ‘B’ short-
term rating along with the ‘zaAA’ long-term and ‘zaA-1+’
short-term national scale ratings remain unchanged. The
outlook is stable.

S&P states that Capitec Bank’s key strengths include ‘sound
capitalisation and significant capital buffers’ along with
‘large balance sheet liquidity, a robust operational and
credit-risk management framework, and a conservative
provisioning policy.’
