DISCLOSURE OF ACQUISITION OF SECURITIES IN PICK N PAY STORES
LIMITED


In accordance with section 122(3)(b) of the Companies Act and section 3.83(b)
of the JSE Listings Requirements, shareholders are advised that the Public
Investment Corporation Soc Limited has acquired further shares in the Company
and its total beneficial interest now amounts to 15.344% of the total number of
shares in issue.

Formal notification has been received from the Public Investment Corporation
Soc Limited and Pick n Pay Stores Limited has filed the required notice with the
Takeover Regulation Panel.
