BROAD BASED BLACK ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT (B-BBEE) ANNUAL COMPLIANCE REPORT

Shareholders are referred to the announcement published by the Company on 31 March 2020, wherein the
Company provided notice of the availability of Massmart’s B-BBEE Annual Compliance Report on its website.

Shareholders are hereby notified that Massmart’s 2019/2020 B-BBEE Certificate expired on 07 October 2020 and
a new B-BBEE Certificate for 2020/2021 was issued on 16 October 2020.

In accordance with the requirements as set out in section 13G(2) of the Broad-Based Black Economic
Empowerment Act 53 of 2003, as amended (the “B-BBEE Act”) and paragraph 16.21(g) and Appendix 1 to Section
11 of the JSE Limited Listings Requirements, Massmart’s B-BBEE certificate for 2020/2021 and the B-BBEE
Annual Compliance Report (containing information aligned to Massmart’s 2020/2021 B-BBEE Certificate) is
available on the Company’s website: www.massmart.co.za.
