CHANGE TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

In accordance with Section 3.59 of the JSE Limited Listings Requirements, HCI shareholders are
advised that the following change has been made to the composition of the HCI Board of
Directors:

We regret to advise that, due to ill health, Mr Mohamed Gani (“Mac”) has resigned from the board
of HCI with immediate effect. We thank Mac for his sterling work on our board and our thoughts
and prayers are with him along his journey to recovery.

We welcome Mohamed Ahmed to the board as an independent non-executive director of the
company with immediate effect and as chairperson of the audit and risk committee. Mohamed is
a director and chairperson of the audit and risk committee of Tsogo Sun Hotels, Hospitality
Property Fund, Montauk Holdings and Deneb Investments. From 1997 – 2001 he was an
executive director of the Company and the chief financial officer. He has previously held
directorships in Seardel Investment Corporation Limited, MTN and Real Africa Holdings.

We wish Mohamed well in his new position.
