SECTION 122 NOTICE: PURCHASE OF SHARES


In accordance with Section 3.83(b) of the JSE Listings Requirements, South Ocean hereby confirms
that it has received a notice in terms of Section 122 of the Companies Act, No. 71 of 2008
(“Companies Act”). Joseph Investments Proprietary Limited (“Joseph Investments”) has informed
the Company that it has purchased a beneficial interest in the Company (“the Purchase”) in terms
of a redemption agreement signed in relation to the financing of the original acquisition of shares,
such that the total beneficial interest in the securities held by Joseph Investments is now 20.15% of
the total issued ordinary share capital of the Company.

As required in terms of Section 122 (3)(a) of the Companies Act, South Ocean will file the required
notices with the Takeover Regulation Panel.
