Alaris is a Radio Frequency technology holding company that owns companies across the globe. The Group operates in 3 different countries: Alaris Antennas – South Africa COJOT – Finland mWAVE – United States of America Alaris USA – United States of America Group update All the employees worldwide who could work from home, were encouraged to work from home. For the staff that came to the office, the health and safety guidelines published by the Governments for each country, were applied. As mentioned in the interim results in March 2020, the Alaris Group has adequate cash available in the bank to weather the Covid-19 storm. Group management is also looking into relief packages available per country and is applying for assistance, where possible. Update on operations in South Africa Alaris Antennas was under lock down from 27 March to 16 April during which time no manufacturing was possible. All other departments i.e. sales and engineering were operating from home quite successfully. On 17 April 2020 a permit to operate as essential services was obtained and manufacturing was slowly ramped up over the subsequent weeks. Additional hours are being worked to catch up on the backlog of work created as a result of the lock down. All staff members who can work from home, are still encouraged to continue doing so. Although it is a privilege to be able to manufacture again, our staff’s health remains a key concern. Update on operations in Finland There was no lockdown implemented in Finland. COJOT was able to continue operations as normal. All the contract manufacturers continued as normal. It appears that the lifting of restrictions has commenced in Finland, as schools started to open and travel is permitted within the EU. Update on operations in the United States of America In the State of Maine where mWAVE and Alaris USA trade from, all public facing businesses had to close for 2 weeks, as well as non-essential businesses that require ten people or more to be in a space where physical distancing is not practical. mWAVE and Alaris USA are not public facing and have been defined as essential. In addition, it is practical for mWave’s staff to follow physical distancing at the premises. Only the manufacturing staff came in and health and safety measures were put in place for the staff on the floor.
