TRADING STATEMENT FOR THE SIX MONTHS ENDED 29 FEBRUARY 2020

In terms of paragraph 3.4(b) of the JSE Limited Listings Requirements, companies are required to publish a trading
statement as soon as the issuer and its directors are satisfied that there is a reasonable degree of certainty that the
financial results for the next reporting period will differ by at least 20% from those of the previous corresponding
period.

Shareholders are accordingly advised that for the six months ended 29 February 2020, the directors of Purple Group
anticipate a basic earnings and headline earnings per share of between 0.09 cents to 0.11 cents, compared to a
basic loss and headline loss per share of 0.69 cents reported in the previous corresponding six month period. The
percentage movement is not shown as the earnings per share has moved from a loss in the previous corresponding
six month period to a profit for the six months ended 29 February 2020.

The information above has not been reviewed or reported on by the Company’s external auditors.

The Company’s interim results for the six months ended 29 February 2020 are expected to be published on SENS on
or about 3 April 2020.
