Trading statement for the six months ended 31 December 2019 Unicorn Capital Partners Limited Incorporated in the Republic of South Africa (Registration number 1992/001973/06) Share code: UCP: ISIN: ZAE000244745 (“Unicorn” or “the Company”) TRADING STATEMENT FOR THE SIX MONTHS ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2019 In terms of paragraph 3.4(b) of the Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited, a listed company is required to publish a trading statement as soon as it is satisfied, with a reasonable degree of certainty, that the financial results for the period to be reported upon next will differ by at least 20% from those of the previous corresponding reporting period (i.e. 31 December 2018). Accordingly, shareholders are advised that, for the six months ended 31 December 2019, the Company is expected to reflect: - a basic loss per share of between 5.82 and 8.38 cents, as compared to the earnings per share reported for the previous corresponding period of 16.87 cents; and - a headline loss per share (“HLPS”) of between 5.12 and 7.37 cents compared to the HLPS reported for the previous corresponding period of 1.50 cents. Restatement Certain group comparative figures have been re-presented as a result of: 1) Nkomati Anthracite Proprietary Limited and Benicon Coal Proprietary Limited no longer being classified as held-for-sale and subsequently re-classified to continuing operations; and 2) Geosearch Proprietary Limited and its subsidiaries as well as Unicorn Mining Services Proprietary Limited and its subsidiaries being classified as held-for-sale and subsequently re-classified to discontinued operations. Additional information surrounding the above can be obtained from the Circular to Shareholders published on 11 March 2020. These changes have not resulted in any restatements to the basic earnings per share, nor any changes in the headline loss per share reported for the previous corresponding period.
