TRADING STATEMENT

In terms of the JSE Limited (“JSE”) Listings Requirements, a listed company is required to
publish a trading statement as soon as it becomes reasonably certain that the financial results
for the next period to be reported on will differ by 20% or more from the financial results for
the previous corresponding period.

Accordingly, the Company hereby advises that a reasonable degree of certainty exists that for
the half year ended 31 August 2019:

   -   headline loss per share will show an improvement of at least 20%, or 8.4 cents per
       share as compared to the headline loss of 42 cents per share reported for the period
       ended 31 August 2018; and

   -   loss per share will show an improvement of at least 20%, or 8.6 cents per share as
       compared to the loss of 43 cents per share reported for the period ended 31 August
       2018.

A more detailed trading statement will be published in due course.

The financial information on which this trading statement is based has not been reviewed or
reported on by the auditor of the Company.
