Paul holds a B.Acc (Cum Laude) degree and a B.Acc (Hons) degree from the University of Stellenbosch. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and CFA charterholder. He joined Rand Merchant Bank (“RMB”) in 2002 in the Corporate Finance Division and headed RMB’s global Corporate Finance business from 2009 to 2015, whereafter he was appointed as an Investment Banking Director. Paul led a number of pioneering transactions during his banking career and served on the RMB Investment Banking Board from 2009 until he resigned in 2019. Paul is a co-founder of Oryx Partners, which will manage Dr Christo Wiese’s family office and be a strategic business partner of the Wiese family.
