BARLOWORLD CAPITAL MARKETS DAY – 30 September 2019

Johannesburg, 30 September, 2019 – Shareholders of Barloworld are advised that the group
and divisional management of the company will deliver presentations to investors and
analysts at the Capital Markets Day. They will also answer questions about operations,
group strategy and progress on key operational initiatives across all divisions.

Further to guidance given at our interim results presentation, we have recently completed
our budgeting and strategic planning cycle for the next five years and our most recent
projections indicate that, based on a target gearing ratio of 40-60%, coupled with executing
on several corporate actions, our return on equity (ROE) uplift in the short terms could be as
high as 4%, which would then exceed our current ROE target of 15% by 2022. These
projections estimate our debt capacity is between R10 billion – R12 billion.

Other than that disclosed above, these presentations will not contain new material
information on current trading or future financial performance.

Barloworld’s Capital Markets Day will take place from 08:30 CAT to 13:30 CAT, followed by
