WITHDRAWAL OF PARTIAL REDEMPTION OF 1,000,000 NEWGOLD DEBENTURES ON
5 SEPTEMBER 2019

Investors are advised that the partial redemption of 1,000,000 NewGold debentures (the
“NewGold debentures”) referencing about 9,481.994 fine troy ounces of gold bullion dated
5 September 2019, could not proceed due to the holder of the debentures having insufficient
stock to fulfil the redemption obligations.

NewGold confirms that the redemption application has been withdrawn on the JSE Limited,
reverting to the original position prior to the 5 September 2019 application for the partial
redemption.

NewGold debentures in issue following this reversal shall amount to 70,177,939 referencing
661,187.088 fine troy ounces of gold bullion.
