Consequently, Public Interest Entities are now required to rotate their audit firms with effect from financial years commencing after 1 April 2023. The board of Implats wishes to inform shareholders that it has decided to early adopt IRBA’s Mandatory Audit Firm Rotation requirements. The Audit Committee, after following a comprehensive formal tender process, as well as due process as set out in paragraph 3.84(g)(iii) of the JSE Listings Requirements (“LR”), has recommended the appointment of Deloitte as the Company’s external auditor with Mr Mandisi Mantyi as the designated lead audit partner. The appointment of Deloitte as the new external auditor will take effect from the financial year ending 30 June 2020. This appointment will be recommended to shareholders for approval at the Annual General Meeting scheduled for 22 October 2019. PwC, the Company’s current external auditor, will continue in their role in respect of the current financial year ending 30 June 2019 to complete the 2019 audit.
