Mr Fandeso holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) (Mechanical Engineering) from University of Wales and a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is currently a non-executive director of Thebe Investment Corporation and SABSA Holdings, having previously served as Lead Independent Director of South African Breweries from 2001 to 2013. Between 2011 and 2017, he also served on the Boards of Santam, Compass Group SA, Senwes and ABSA Africa Group as independent non-executive director. Mr Fandeso was appointed in various executive roles between 2002 and 2017, which included chief executive officer of the Land and Agricultural Development Bank of South Africa and Thebe Tourism Group separately, with the more recent responsibilities being as Country Chair of Shell South Africa and executive director of SABMiller South Africa/ABInBev Africa respectively.
