APPOINTMENT OF INDEPENDENT NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS TO THE ABSA
BANK BOARD

In accordance with paragraph 3.59 (a) of the JSE Listings Requirements, shareholders
are advised of the appointment of Alex Darko and Mark Merson as independent
non-executive directors to the Board of Absa Bank with effect from 15 May 2019.

Both Alex and Mark will continue to serve as independent non-executive directors on the
Absa Group Board.
