 APPOINTMENT OF AN INDEPENDENT NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

 In terms of paragraph 3.59 of the JSE Limited Listings Requirements, Merafe shareholders are
 advised that Mr Jeff McClaughlan has been appointed as an independent non-executive director of
 Merafe board of directors (“Board”) with effect from 1 April 2019.

 Mr McClaughlan holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration and Finance from the Open
 University, an Advanced Professional Management Programme from the University of South Africa
 (Unisa) and a National Diploma in Electrical and Instrumentation. He has more than 38 years’
 experience in the South African mining sector including various roles at Middelburg Steel and Alloys
 Proprietary Limited, Consolidated Metallurgical Industries Limited, Xstrata South Africa Proprietary
 Limited and Glencore Operations South Africa Proprietary Limited. Mr McClaughlan is President of
 the International Chrome Development Association and is a member of the Institute of Electrical and
 Mechanical Engineers, South Africa.

 The Board welcomes Mr McClaughlan and wishes him well in his role at Merafe.
