Changes to the Board of Directors Sappi Limited (Incorporated in the Republic of South Africa) Registration number: 1936/008963/06 JSE share code: SAP ISIN code: ZAE000006284 ("Sappi" or the "Company") Changes to the Board of Directors In terms of paragraph 3.59 (b) of the Listing Requirements of the JSE Limited, Sappi shareholders are advised of the following changes to the Board of directors of Sappi (the “Board”): The Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Brian Beamish as independent non-executive director with effect from 01 March 2019. Mr Beamish, a qualified mechanical engineer with over 40 years of relevant experience, was appointed to the Lonmin Board in 2013 and as Chairman in 2014. He also serves as Chair of the Nomination Committee and as a member of the Remuneration and Safety, Health & Environment Committees. His executive career was spent within various divisions of Anglo American, where his final role until retirement was that of Group Director Mining & Technology, before which he was the CEO of the Base Metals Division. Mr Beamish also serves as a non-executive director on the Board of Nordgold and is the Chair of the Safety & Sustainable Development Committee and member of the Audit, Remuneration and Nominations Committees. Commenting on the appointment, Sir Nigel Rudd said: “Mr Beamish is a valuable addition to Sappi’s strong board.
