CHANGES TO THE SANLAM BOARD

Notification is hereby given in accordance with paragraph 3.59(b) of the JSE Limited Listings
Requirements that Mr Mohammed Valli Moosa will be retiring from the boards of directors
of Sanlam (“Board”) and Sanlam Life Insurance Limited with effect from 06 June 2018, after
the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting. The Board wishes to thank Mr Moosa for his
contribution to the Group since his appointment to the Board in 2004.

Commenting on Mr Moosa’s retirement, the Chair of the board of directors of Sanlam and
Sanlam Life Insurance Limited, Dr Van Zyl said: “The Board and I appreciate the passion
and diligence with which Valli has served the Group, contributing to its growth and
transformation in the 14 years that he has been on the Board especially the contribution he
made as Chair of the Social, Ethics and Sustainability Committee. We bid him well in all his
future endeavours”.
