SECOND QUARTER OPERATIONAL UPDATE – FY 2018
Cashbuild herewith provides its voluntary quarterly operational update.
Revenue for the second quarter for the Cashbuild Group was up 4% on the second quarter of the prior
financial year, with the 39 new stores opened or acquired since 1 July 2016 contributing 5% of the increase,
whilst the 278 existing stores decreased by 1%. This, together with the growth reported in the first quarter,
equates to an increase in revenue for the half year of 5%, with new stores contributing 5% of the increase
whilst existing stores remained at similar levels.
Transactions through the tills during the second quarter for the Cashbuild Group increased by 1% (half year:
1%) to that of the comparative period, with new stores increasing by 4% (half year: 4%) and existing stores
decreasing by 3% (half year: 3% decrease).
Selling inflation was 3% at the end of December 2017 when compared to December 2016. Gross profit
margin percentage for the Group is slightly lower than those reported for the first half of the prior financial
year.

During the second quarter, the Group added 11 new stores (Eight Cashbuild and three P&L Hardware stores)
(half year: 22) and relocated two Cashbuild stores (half year: 4), bringing the total number of stores trading at
the end of the quarter to 317.
