DECLARED DIVIDEND ANNOUNCEMENT ON BRITISH AMERICAN TOBACCO PLC HOT ENHANCED DIVIDEND
SECURITIES – (“BTIIHG”)


With reference to the dividend announcement, the Directors of British American Tobacco Plc have recommended a
final dividend of 118.1 pence per ordinary share payable on Thursday, 4 May 2017 to ordinary shareholders,
recorded in the books of the company at the close of business on Friday, 17 March 2017.

The currency exchange rate applicable for the dividend is GBP: ZAR = 16.32100 as at 21 February 2017.

In terms of the new Dividend Tax effective from 22 February 2017, the following additional information is disclosed:

1)   local dividend tax rate is 20%;
2)   net local dividend amount is 1542.00808 South African cents per share for shareholders liable to pay the new
     Dividends Tax and 1927.51010 South African cents per share for shareholders exempt from paying the new
     Dividends Tax;
3)   the issued share capital of British American Tobacco Plc is 1 864 374 894 ordinary shares;
4)   the British American Tobacco Plc tax reference number is 9378193172; and
5)   Investec Bank Limited tax reference number is 9675/053/71/5.


Accordingly, the holders of BTIIHG will receive a dividend amount per ordinary share on Thursday, 4 May 2017 in
terms of the Cession clause incorporated in the Supplement between the holders and Investec Bank Limited. The
last day to trade (“cum” the dividend) in order to participate in the dividend will be Tuesday, 14 March 2017.

BTIIHG Hot Enhanced Dividend Securities will commence trading “ex” the dividend from the commencement of
business on Wednesday, 15 March 2017, and the record date will be Friday, 17 March 2017.
