TRADING STATEMENT                                                               
In terms of paragraph 3.4(b) of the Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited,   
companies are required to publish a trading statement as soon as they become    
reasonably certain that the financial results for the period to be reported on  
next will differ by at least 20% from those of the previous corresponding       
period.                                                                         
York is in the process of completing its results for the six months ended 31    
December 2009 for release on or about 30 March 2010.                            
Accordingly, shareholders are advised that Basic Headline Earnings per Share are
expected to be in the range of 139 cents per share and 169 cents per share.     
The result is mainly attributable to a continued decrease in demand for timber  
in line with the current economic slow down. In addition, the fair value of the 
biological asset was reduced by approximately 4.5% when compared to the value of
the Biological Asset as at 30 June 2009: harvested volume exceeding volume      
growth, a consequence of the fires in 2007 and 2008.                            
Shareholders are advised that the information included in this announcement has 
not been reviewed or reported on by the Company`s auditors.
