EOH interim results January 2019
Revenue from continuing operations increased to R8.428 billion (2018: R8.354 billion), gross profit dropped to R1.667 billion (2018: R2.682 billion) and operating loss before interest and equity-accounted loss or profit was recorded at R2.878 billion (2018: operating profit of R784.2 million). Loss for the period attributable to owners of EOH came to R3.304 billion (2018: profit of R67.5 million). Furthermore, headline loss per share was recorded at 973 cents per share (2018: headline earnings of 314 cents per share).
The Group expects the remainder of the 2019 financial year to be under pressure as a result of a slow-down in the economy, the delay of large infrastructure projects and the resultant Group reorganisation as a result of the new adopted strategy.
