RETIREMENT OF EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

In terms of section 3.59 of the JSE Listings Requirements, shareholders are
advised that, on reaching the Group’s normal retirement age, Richard van
Rensburg will be retiring from his position as executive director of Pick n Pay
Stores Limited with effect from 31 March 2021.

Richard joined the Board in 2009 as a non-executive director. In 2011, Richard
took up an executive role as Deputy CEO. In his current role as Chief
Information Systems Officer, Richard and his team have significantly
strengthened the Group’s IT Division, created an efficient, effective and modern
systems platform, and grown the Group’s online channel and value-added
services. Richard has also developed Pick n Pay’s market stores programme,
which provides opportunities for small-scale retail entrepreneurs to grow their
businesses in partnership with the Group.

The Group has well-planned internal succession arrangements in place that will
ensure successful delivery of these important functions in the future.

The Board extends its sincere thanks and appreciation to Richard for his
commitment and contribution to Pick n Pay and wishes him the very best for his
retirement.
