(together the “Precious Metal ETNs”)

The Standard Bank of South Africa Limited (the “Issuer”) wishes to notify holders of the
Precious Metal ETNs issued on 10 August 2010 under its Domestic Medium Term Note
Programme dated 1 December 2010 (the “Programme Memorandum”) (as supplemented by
the relevant Applicable Pricing Supplement), that the Precious Metal ETNs will be maturing
on 11 August 2020.

The following information is relevant to the maturing Precious Metal ETNs:

   1. the Precious Metal ETNs will mature in whole in accordance with the conditions of
      the Applicable Pricing Supplement relating to each Precious Metal ETN on 11 August
      2020;

   2. the Last Day to Trade/Register as holder of the Precious Metal ETNs in order to be
      eligible to receive the Final Redemption Amount will be 30 July 2020 at 17h00,
      following which the books closed period will be from 31 July 2020 to 11 August 2020
      (accordingly, if you buy a Precious Metal ETN after 30 July 2020, you will not receive
      the Final Redemption Amount);

   3. the Final Redemption Amount(s) will be determined on 11 August 2020 and be
      published by SENS;

   4. the Final Redemption Amount(s) will be paid to Strate Proprietary Limited (“Strate”)
      on 13 August 2020, following which the Issuer will be discharged of its payment
      obligations; and

   5. each of the persons shown in the records of Strate and/or the Participants as the
      holder of a particular number of Notes in respect of the Precious Metal ETNs as at
      the commencement of the books closed period must look solely to Strate and/or the
      relevant Participant for his/her/its share of each such payment so made by the Issuer
      to, or to the order of, Strate.


   6. The following dates will apply:


           Last day to trade:          Thursday, 30 July 2020
           Suspension date:            Friday, 31 July 2020
           Record date:                Tuesday, 04 August 2020
           Determination date:         Tuesday, 11 August 2020
           Payment date:               Thursday, 13 August 2020
           Termination date:           Friday, 14 August 2020
Investors in the Gold ETN, Palladium ETN and Platinum ETN should note that alternative
ETFs linked to Gold (share code ETFGLD), Platinum (share code ETFPLT) and Palladium
(share code (ETFPLD) as managed by 1nvest Fund Managers (owned by the Issuer) are
available as alternative investment options linked to the same underlying precious metal.
