FORCE MAJEURE DECLARED BY RAILWAY SERVICE PROVIDER

Afrimat wishes to inform shareholders and update the market of a notice received from the Company’s
railway service provider. The notice informs the Company of an accident that took place on the Sishen-
Saldanha line on 28 November 2018, caused by a third party. As a result, the railway service provider
declared a force majeure in respect of its contract with the Company.


The situation is receiving urgent attention from the service provider and all indications are that a
temporary solution will be in place by approximately 9 December 2018. The Company will therefore not
be in a position to export its full iron ore production for the month of December.
